Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is a tissue friendly product, made from a non-animal gel substance, and resembles the hyaluronic acid which naturally exists within the skin layers.
They provide structure and sculpture to replace where the natural collagen, elastin, fat pads and bone density is lost through natural aging, or to simply add volume and definition where required to enhance features. Dermal fillers can treat fine lines and wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance.
Areas for application on the facial region include.
- Smoker’s lines to reduce fine lines around the mouth
- Tear troughs to revive and refresh tired-looking eye (subject to being an appropriate candidate)
- Lip enhancements to improve shape, definition and add volume. Hyaluronic dermal fillers administered to the lips will also improve hydration if you suffer from dry and sore lips (especially during the winter months)
- Cheeks to define, sculpt and lift the face by adding volume (generally 2ml is required for both cheeks)
- Sad face (marionettes and nasolabial lines) to smooth wrinkles and folds within these regions
- Jawline and chin areas to add definition, reshape and achieve a more desired facial effect
- Hands to restore the plumpness when the skin has lost volume and aged
Treatment involves either a needle or cannula injected into the skin and if applicable, a topical localised anaesthetic cream will be applied to reduce discomfort.
Treatments for dermal fillers last between 6 months to 1 year dependent on a client’s lifestyle and metabolic rate. Swelling and bruising can be a common side effect following treatment, therefore the client needs to allow 2 weeks to see true results.
Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
Anti-wrinkle treatments are muscle relaxing injections and when injected, block the nerve signals to the muscle, therefore preventing movement creating lines and wrinkles to be smoothed. This results in a fresher, more youthful appearance and is now a very popular treatment. Used mainly in the upper facial region these injections are very effective for crow’s feet (around the eyes), frown lines (between the eyes) and worry lines (the forehead).
Further indications within the facial area are advanced techniques which include bunny lines, down-turned mouth, lip flip, pebble chin, smoker’s lines, masseter jaw slimming, brow lift and to reduce teeth grinding. They are also effective within the neck area for a Nefertiti neck lift.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are a Person Only Prescription (POM) and following treatment, it will take up to 2 weeks to gain the full effect, lasting between 3- and 6-months dependent on the client’s lifestyle and metabolic rate. A two-week review and, if necessary, a top up may be required, which is included within the treatment price.
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Treatments
PRP is also known in the media as the “vampire facial”. This treatment involves injecting the client’s blood into areas of concern, stimulating collagen production. PRP consists of two elements; the plasma, the liquid part of the blood, and platelets which play an important role in the body’s healing. Platelets contain growth factors which trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration in the treated area. This initiates a healing response by attracting stem cells, stimulating cell growth, tissue remodelling and renewing collagen deposits. This then slows down the ageing process, improving the tone, texture and appearance of the skin, with a gradual increase in skin thickness and vitality. Please note the effects of the treatment are progressive and not immediate. For ongoing results, monthly treatments for 3 – 4 months are recommended, followed by a maintenance treatment every 6 months.
Skin Boosting Treatments
Skin Boosters are an amazing deep hydration treatment to restore and gain an overall luminous, brighter and more youth appearance.
There are a variety of Skin Boosters available containing hyaluronic acid, amino acids and vitamins when injected superficially into the skin, revitalise, promoting and stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production. This reduces fine lines, plumps, tones and smooths areas. This treatment is very effective for a general enhanced healthy glow or to reverse signs of ageing and dryness suffered from our environment or lifestyle. This can include things such as smoking, the sun or general stress and being run down.
Skin Booster treatments can treat the face, neck, chest area, hands, arms, legs, knees, abdomen or smaller target areas such as around the eyes and mouth for fine lines and skin brightening.
Skin Boosters require minimum of 2 treatments and will last between 6 and 9 months with a top up treatment every 6 months.
